Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your information when you visit zarinachristian.com (the “site”), subscribe to the newsletter, send a message through a form, or interact with the Rooted in Resilience podcast content hosted here. The site is operated by Zarina Christian (“we”, “us”).

We keep this in plain language on purpose. If anything is unclear, ask — the contact details are at the bottom.

Site analytics. We use two tools to understand which pages and episodes people find useful:

• Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights — privacy-focused, cookie-free measurement of page views, referrers, device type, country, and page performance. No personal identifiers are stored.
• Google Analytics 4 — sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) to recognise returning visitors and measure how people arrive and move through the site. IP addresses are truncated by Google before storage. Google’s handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address (and anything else you choose to share in the form) is stored with our email provider, beehiiv, and used only to send you the newsletter. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. See the beehiiv Privacy Policy.

Contact and collaboration forms. Messages you send through the site are delivered via Formspree, which stores the submission (your name, email, and message) so we can reply. See the Formspree Privacy Policy.

Server logs. Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard request logs (IP address, browser, timestamp) for security and to keep the site running. These are retained briefly and not used for marketing.

Episode pages embed video from YouTube using the youtube-nocookie.com domain, which means YouTube does not set tracking cookies until you press play. Once you play a video, YouTube’s own privacy terms apply. Links to Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and other platforms take you to those services, each with their own policies.

The only cookies set directly by this site are Google Analytics cookies. You can:

• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings — the site works without them.
• Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. Information is only shared with the service providers named above (Vercel, Google, beehiiv, Formspree) so they can operate the site, analytics, newsletter, and forms on our behalf — or where the law requires it.

Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Form submissions are kept as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable record afterwards. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Vercel analytics are aggregated and contain no personal identifiers.

Depending on where you live (including under the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to how it is used. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below and we will respond within the time the applicable law requires.

The site and newsletter are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the newsletter.
